Description
Silvi is a citizen-powered reforestation platform built on transparency and community engagement. The Silvi App allows anyone, from rural farmers to urban green stewards, to register and monitor trees, report on growth, and document reforestation efforts. Using tools like Treekipedia and the Ecological Benefits Framework, Silvi enables transparent monitoring, reporting, and verification of climate impact, including financial incentives through TreeForwards.
Impact
Silvi is already making real-world impact. In Kenya, the platform enabled early adopters to plant and steward over 70,000 trees across 15 pilot sites near the Kakamega Forest within just eight months. It also launched a plant to earn campaign in Kenya via Opera MiniPay, empowering local communities to earn compensation for tree stewardship while tracking reforestation impact in real time.
